addition to the PC (Personal Computer), there are computers (computers) much more powerful that serve different purposes. in laboratories and universities are used Workstation , more powerful computers that offer better quality for both programming and graphics.
in banks and companies are free to use the Mainframe serving to better manage large networks and databases. 
Finally, in major research centers are the most powerful computer adapted to compute very fast and complexity. They are called Supercomputer.
